Juwai.asia is the extended platform of Juwai.com, where we expanded our business from China to Asia in 2019. Within Juwai.asia, our team faced the challenge of reaching a broader target audience with tighter deadlines.
First, we gathered project requirements and constraints. With our goal to launch the platform within 3 months, it was crucial to identify the essential features and enhancements needed for a successful rollout. As an extension of Juwai.com, Juwai.asia will share features like property searching, global real estate market news, and consulting services. We referenced these pages from Juwai.com and implemented them on Juwai.asia, planning to further enhance them after the initial launch.
The target audience for the new site is not only Chinese property buyers but also Asians from various countries. Therefore, we needed to study the preferences and requirements of a broader audience. For the first launch, we focused on specific locations: Hong Kong, Malaysia, the Philippines, and the UAE. Consequently, we concentrated on designing distinctive features to enhance the user experience for our international audience. These include customized homepage content based on buyer location, multi-language and multi-currency support within the UI, and local property search capabilities.
Next, we created a roadmap. To meet the 3-month launch deadline, we prioritized the development of essential features and workflows using the MoSCoW method. This approach ensured that we could deliver the necessary functionality while still considering additional value-adding steps.
Finally, we developed the sitemap, detailing the necessary features and enhancements to ensure a smooth and successful rollout within the given timeframe.
Juwai.asia customizes content, language, and currency based on where buyers are located. When someone visits the site for the first time, it detects their location and saves it with cookies. The homepage then adjusts to show either a mix of global and local properties or only local listings, depending on the region. This tailored experience is designed to meet the specific needs of buyers in different areas.
For the Global Search Page, we took a close look at how people search for properties worldwide. We added a Rental Option Filter that lets users choose from weekly, monthly, or yearly rentals. We also improved currency formatting by using smart rounding to make prices easier to read.
On the Property Details Page, we kept changes minimal compared to Juwai.com, but added helpful features like unit conversion and local real estate market insights. These updates make it easier for buyers to find what they’re looking for. Other pages, such as Property Channels and Market News, are consistent with Juwai.com, ensuring a seamless experience across the platform.
